Overwatch 2 Mid-Season 18 is heating up fast. The mid-season update has arrived, bringing with it the stylish Persona 5 crossover, the Anniversary 2025 Arcade chaos, and a wave of balance changes to shake up competitive play. Tracer also officially joins the Stadium roster, expanding the chaos with new powers and perks.
Hazard nerfs lead the tank Overwatch 2 mid-season updates
Hazard, who has been one of the most dominant tanks at high ranks, is finally getting trimmed down in this Overwatch 2 mid-season update. His Spike Guard damage reduction has been lowered from 65% to 60%, and Violent Leap’s slash damage dropped from 80 to 70.
Meanwhile, Ramattra picks up a buff with bonus armor in Nemesis form increased from 250 to 275. Roadhog has also been given some love with a critical multiplier bump from 1.5x to 2x and Take a Breather regeneration increased from 10 to 12.5 per second.
Wrecking Ball, on the other hand, got nerfed: Quad Cannons now hold only 80 ammo instead of 100, and Minefield duration has been shortened from 20 to 16 seconds.
Genji, Hanzo, and Tracer among DPS tweaks
Genji mains are going to feel this one. Deflect cooldown has been increased from 8 to 10 seconds, weakening his defensive uptime. Hanzo also lost his Storm Arrows advantage, which no longer have larger projectile sizes compared to normal arrows.
Tracer was hit with a perk nerf that increases perk cost by 25%, slowing down her early impact. Despite that, she officially joins the Stadium roster as a playable character with a wide array of flashy new abilities that emphasize mobility and burst damage.
Torbjorn received buffs with Overload lasting 6 seconds instead of 5, and Molten Core’s damage per second rising from 160 to 190. Widowmaker also picked up buffs: Grappling Hook cooldown reduced from 12 to 10 seconds, and Venom Mine total damage increased from 75 to 125.
Support buffs and nerfs
Brigitte’s Shield Bash damage has gone up from 50 to 70, while a perk bug was fixed that previously triggered off non-player entities. Lucio took a hit, with Sonic Amplifier’s projectile damage reduced from 22 to 20.
Wuyang has been tuned down as well: Rushing Torrent cooldown increased from 7 to 8 seconds and Guardian Wave healing boost reduced from 4 seconds to 3.
Kiriko’s survivability items were scaled back. Talisman of Life’s ability power went from 20% to 15% and its overhealth from 100 to 80. Donut Delivery healing was reduced from 120 to 80 and cooldown reduction from 10% to 5%.
On the buff side, Juno’s Pulsar Destroyer now deals 35 damage, up from 20, making it a much stronger epic-tier option.
Overwatch 2 mid-season Stadium updates with orisa, sigma, and mei buffs
Orisa saw boosts across multiple Overwatch 2 mid-season Stadium powers: Scorched Earth damage raised to 25%, Shield Divergence barrier scaling increased, and Supercharger health doubled from 200 to 400. These changes should help her anchor fights more effectively.
Sigma also picked up buffs through item reworks: Beam Splitter now reduces melee damage while active with 75% damage reduction, and Volatile Gravel stacks ability power bonuses up to four times. Gravitic Flux now refunds half its ultimate charge if no enemies are caught.
Mei’s Snowball now applies a 30% slow on critical hits, rewarding precision and punishing missteps.
General item changes in Overwatch 2 mid-season
Several general items were adjusted with Tracer’s arrival. Ironclad Exhaust Ports now stack overhealth only once but give +10 health.
Three-Tap Tommygun was reworked to deal extra damage for three seconds after using an ability, instead of on the next three hits, with a cost reduction to 9,500. Mark of the Kitsune now includes damage falloff for its bonus effect.
Phantom thieves collab and anniversary 2025
While these balance changes shift the competitive scene, the big spotlight remains on the Persona 5 Phantom Thieves crossover. Players can unlock themed skins for Mercy, Genji, Lifeweaver, D.Va, and Ouyang in a $69 bundle packed with cosmetics.
Meanwhile, the Anniversary 2025 event brings back arcade favorites like Prop Hunt and Mirror Watch, with loot boxes, mythic prisms, and a brand-new Vampire Regent Lifeweaver skin up for grabs.
