Okay, so… remember how we were all hyped for Unranked Stadium coming in Season 17? Yeah, me too. BUT plot twist—it’s been rerouted to Season 18. Bummer? Maybe. But honestly, it sounds like it’ll be worth the wait.

They’re taking extra time to make sure Cross-Play is smooth as Kiriko’s teleport and that the Backfill system doesn’t yeet you into a 30-second loss. Instead, you’ll get match-appropriate Stadium Cash, setup time, and the dignity of not walking into a loss with nothing but your melee button. Thank. You.

📦 Stuff Swapped Around (Like My Hero Picks Every Round)

Turns out not all delays are bad. competitive Drafts got a little promotion and are now launching in Season 18! This means more strategy, more big-brain plays, and fewer “oh no not Bastion again” moments.

Meanwhile, Stadium Trials got bumped to Season 19. That’s fine—I still haven’t recovered from my last challenges anyway. 😅

🎮 Custom Games & Cool Features? YES.

Okay this one’s huge: Custom Stadium Games are landing in Season 17! You’ll be able to make your own lobbies, tweak parameters, and practice your giga Build combos with your squad. Bots and Unranked rules will arrive later in S18, but for now? It’s the perfect place to test weird, possibly cursed strategies. (Looking at you, Orb-spam Moira mains. 👀)

Plus:

  • Esperança and Samoa got Stadium makeovers!
  • Aiming down sights is now smoother than Lucio’s skating—Ashe, Ana, and Freja feel crisp. 🧊✨
    This means smoother transitions from third-person perspective, so you can go from wide-angle awareness to scoped-in precision without it feeling like you just got flashbanged by your own camera.
  • Competitive Drives start rolling out later in S17, with blingy name cards on the horizon 👑!

🛠️ Forge Shenanigans – Steal Like a Pro (Or a Goblin)

Okay but this part?? Savage. Stadium Forge is already awesome for Build crafting, but now you can yoink enemy Builds mid-match if they’re giving you a hard time. Just slap in their code later, study their setup, and then… use it against them. Sweet revenge!
