From July 1 to July 14, our favorite Overwatch battlefield becomes the front line in a retro-cool clash of ideologies and iconic style. You either suit up with the good guys (hello G.I. Joe) or lean into your villain era with Cobra. There’s no in-between.
🟦 Fight for Freedom: G.I. Joe Arrives in Style
Let’s talk drip. This collab didn’t come to play—it came to sashay. First up:
- Genji as Snake Eyes – Silent. Deadly. Looks like a sleek ninja action figure come to life. I was already slicing through tanks as Genji, but now? I’m doing it with tactical flair.
- Freja as Scarlett – Our girl Freja steps up in full-on G.I. Joe mode. Think crossbows, firepower, and sheer brilliance packed into a redhead with a mean right hook.
Scarlett and Snake Eyes alone are enough to have me whispering, “Yo, Joe!” between matches.
🟥 Strike for Chaos: Cobra Brings the Heat
Now, I wanted to be good… but have you seen these skins?
- Widowmaker as Baroness – She’s basically a sniper in high fashion. I can’t decide what’s deadlier—her aim or her wardrobe.
- Reaper as Cobra Commander – The guy already had drama baked into his ult, now he’s gone full Saturday morning cartoon villain. And it’s amazing.
- Doomfist as Destro – Straight outta the toy box with fists of metal and menace. He’s not just punching; he’s profiting from chaos.
🎖️ Special Ops = Special Loot
Besides looking extremely cool (and/or terrifying), there are in-game challenges that reward you with G.I. Joe-themed goodies—voice lines, sprays, a weapon charm, and even a special player title. And yes, you can earn up to 25,000 Battle Pass XP, which is basically Blizzard giving us a little “thank you for being stylish.”
Win games in Quick Play, competitive, or Stadium to progress through the missions faster. If you’ve ever wanted to blast your ult while yelling, “Yo Joe!” or “Hail Cobra!”, now’s the time.
