Overwatch 2 Introduces Galactic Weapons for Competitive Players
Galactic Weapons have arrived in Overwatch 2, giving players a brand-new way to showcase their skill and dedication in competitive Mode. These stunning, space-themed weapon variants are an alternative to previous Gold and Jade weapons, adding a nice purple and cosmic look to your heroes weapons so that you can fight in style.
Galactic Weapons are now available for 3,000 Competitive Points (CP). However, it’s important to note that you cannot use your old Competitive Points—instead, you’ll need to earn new Competitive Points by playing in the latest Competitive seasons. Therefore feel free to spend the points you have earned in the previous seasons (now called Legacy Competitive Points) on the Gold or Jade weapons.
How to Get Galactic Weapons in Overwatch 2
To unlock a Galactic Weapon, you need to collect 3,000 Red Competitive Points by actively participating in Competitive Mode. Here’s how you can earn CP:
- Competitive Mode Only – You cannot earn Competitive Points outside of Competitive mode.
- End-of-Season Competitive Rewards – Players receive Competitive Points at the end of each season based on their final rank. Higher ranks earn more CP.
- Winning Competitive Matches – Each victory grants 10CP (draws award 5 CP).
- Progress Bar – As a bonus you can also earn some extra CP through the progression bar. Each match adds to your progression bar. Every win gives you 3 progression points, while draws and losses will only give you 1 progression point. After a total of 30, you will gain 100 CP.
