Blizzard has dropped a surprise hotfix for Overwatch 2 on March 25, 2025, bringing hero balance changes that shake up both the 5v5 and 6v6 game modes. While no new content was added, this patch focuses on fine-tuning hero performance across all roles—Tank, Damage, and Support—aiming to keep the meta fresh and competitive.

🔧 Tank Hero Updates


Mauga

  • Cardiac Overdrive: No longer grants allies damage reduction.
  • Cage Fight (Ultimate): Ultimate cost increased by 8%. Barrier health reduced from 1500 → 1200 HP.
  • Berserker (Passive): Overhealth conversion reduced from 50% → 40%.

Roadhog

  • Take a Breather: Healing increased from 400 → 450 HP.
  • Whole Hog (Ultimate): Cost reduced by 12%.

Winston

  • Primal Rage (Ultimate): Cost increased by 10%.

Zarya

  • Energy: Degeneration rate increased from 2 → 2.5 per second.

🔫 Damage Hero Updates


Cassidy

  • Peacekeeper: Primary fire falloff range increased from 20 → 25 meters.
  • Secondary fire damage increased from 45 → 50.

Echo

  • Health Pool: Base health reduced from 225 → 150. Gains 75 shield HP.

Soldier: 76

  • Heavy Pulse Rifle: Now uses a larger projectile size (0.07m), making it easier to land shots.

Sojourn

  • Power Slide: Cooldown increased from 7 → 8 seconds. Max duration reduced from 1.2 → 1 second.

Widowmaker

  • Base Health: Increased from 200 → 225 HP.

Ana

  • Biotic Grenade: Cooldown increased from 12 → 14 seconds (non-6v6), and from 10 → 12 seconds (6v6).
  • Shrike (Passive): Self-Nano Boost duration reduced from 8 → 6 seconds.

Juno

  • Orbital Ray (Ultimate): Cost increased by 10%.

This patch signals a strong shift toward balancing out hero dominance, with Blizzard clearly listening to community feedback.

Mauga and Ana take significant hits, while heroes like Roadhog, Cassidy, and Widowmaker get a boost. The experimental health and projectile size changes also hint at continued refinement of the core game mechanics.
