🔥 What’s Coming in Overwatch 2 Season 16
Overwatch 2 fans, get ready!— Season 16 is shaping up to be one of the game’s most exciting updates yet. Thanks to reliable leaks from Reddit user cf2 leer, we now have a glimpse into what Blizzard has in store: new Mythic skins, a fresh hero ban system, and even a surprise Gundam Wing collaboration. Here’s a full breakdown of everything we know so far.
🎭 Juno Mythic Skin Unveiled
We actually saw early versions of the Juno Mythic skin in concept art form months ago — something I covered in my previous article. A highlight of the upcoming season, Juno was first teased during the Overwatch Spotlight in February, and now fans are finally getting an in game look at this magical skin. It will come in three distinct “Doki Watch” style variants:
- A blonde default ”Doki Watch”-style
- A villanous “Doki Watch”-style
- A pastel-themed ”Doki Watch”-style
Personally, I still prefer the original concept art. The early designs leaned more into a cute, magical pastel aesthetic, giving them a fantasy-like charm that feels somewhat toned down in the in-game version. Still, it’s exciting to see how far the skin has come — and I’m definitely here for the magical girl vibe, so I’ll be grabbing it either way. 😊
I still hope that there will be a version more similar to the ones above, but for now we have not seen an in-game version of these so it is unclear. We can only speculate that the in game photos posted are the only Juno versions we will receive.
💖 Previously Leaked Doki-Watch Skins
While the Juno Mythic skin is taking the spotlight in Season 16, it’s worth remembering that she wasn’t the only hero to get the magical makeover treatment. Several other Doki-Watch-inspired skins were leaked alongside Juno at the start of the month — and I covered them in detail in my previous article.
These skins blend Overwatch heroes with colorful, anime-style designs straight out of a magical girl universe. Think soft pastels, sparkly effects, and bold, stylized outfits — each one fitting perfectly into a Doki Watch theme.
These beautiful skins should be available in season 16 as well alongside the Juno mythic skin.

✨ New “Iridescent” Skin Aspects
Alongside the Juno Mythic, Blizzard is adding a new layer of customization called iridescent aspects — shimmering overlays for existing Mythic skins. Much like the previously introduced gilded variants, these will be a separate purchase, allowing players to further personalize their favorite looks. Early previews show off the Zeus Junker Queen skin in this glowing new style, and more are expected to follow.
🩺 Lightbringer Ana: Starter Bundle Skin
Ana mains can grab the Lightbringer Ana skin as part of the Season Starter Bundle. This budget-friendly pack typically includes the skin plus a handful of in-game coins, making it an easy pickup for those not planning to buy the full Battle Pass.
🏟️ “Stadium” Ranked Mode & Skins Reflecting On Rank
Season 16 is also set to debut Stadium Mode, a new ranked playlist with exclusive rewards. Players who climb the ranks will unlock recolored skins inspired by Overwatch League aesthetics, each reflecting the player’s current rank. It’s a fresh incentive for competitive play — and more details are expected soon on how these skins will be earned.
🌍 Stadium Mode Maps: Old Meets New
Several classic maps like Paris, Ilios, and Busan will return in this new mode — but with a twist. Themed stadium reworks will give these familiar settings a new flair, adding dynamic changes that set them apart from standard PvP maps. While gameplay mechanics haven’t been fully detailed, expect a fresh experience tailored to Stadium’s competitive style.
🚫 Hero Ban System Incoming
Possibly the most impactful change of all: hero bans. Players will soon be able to vote on which heroes to exclude from each match. Each team can ban two heroes (for a total of four per game), with votes weighted by preference. This system introduces an extra layer of strategy, likely shaking up the meta and giving teams more control over matchups.
🤖 Gundam Wing x Overwatch Collaboration
One of the most unexpected leaks is a collaboration with the iconic Gundam Wing franchise, celebrating its 30th anniversary. While Blizzard hasn’t confirmed which heroes will get the Gundam treatment, speculation is high around characters like D.Va, Reinhardt, Orisa or Ramattra, who already have the mech-like aesthetic. Gundam fans are in for a nostalgic treat!
🏷️ Skin Naming Updates
A small but interesting update: Overwatch’s skin naming conventions are getting a makeover.
- Overwatch 1 skins will now be labeled as “Classic”
- Overwatch 2 skins will be referred to as “Valorous”
This change helps distinguish older legacy content from new-era designs and may hint at more curated organization within the hero galleries.
We cannot help but wonder if this change means that Overwatch is dropping the ´´2´´ and becoming ´´Overwatch.´´
