Okay team, deep breath—Season 17 drops June 24 and it’s stacked with more hype than a nano’d well played Genji. Whether you’re grinding Comp, diving into Stadium, or just here for the skins (same), there’s something for everyone.

🏟️ Stadium Mode Gets an Upgrade
Stadium, Overwatch 2’s round-based PvP mode, is evolving fast.
- New Heroes: Zenyatta, Sigma, and Junkrat are joining the Stadium roster.
- New Maps: Esperança and Samoa are now playable in Stadium format!
- Stadium Forge: A create/save/share system for team comps and loadouts—yes, you can finally theorycraft like a pro. 😎
- Rank Reset: Everyone gets a fresh start this season. Time to climb!
🗳️ Map Voting Comes to Quick Play & Competitive
Finally, we get a say in where the chaos happens!
Map Voting launches at the start of each match. After roles lock, you’ll vote between three random maps. Each vote increases that map’s odds slightly (by 10%) and the match is selected via roulette roll.
No tags. No peer pressure. Just chill vibes and good maps.
⚠️ Heads up: leaver penalties now apply after voting starts, so don’t dip!
🌍 New Maps, New Mayhem
This season adds three fresh battlegrounds:
- Aatlis (Flashpoint): A luxurious Moroccan map full of close-quarter chaos, beautiful design, and fast-paced rotations.
- Esperança (Stadium): Portugal’s Push map reimagined with more verticality and tighter round pacing.
- Samoa (Stadium): Lava. Platforms. High ground battles. It’s giving “Lucio goes feral.”
Each one feels unique and adds something fresh to both casual and competitive play.

For the first time ever, we’re getting TWO Mythic-tier cosmetics at launch—and one of them is for D.Va, so yes, I’m losing it. ❤️
💖 Horang D.Va (Mythic Hero Skin)
As a D.Va main, I am not okay. This skin blends Korean folklore with tiger-themed power, and it’s GORGEOUS.
There are four levels of customization:
- Tier 1: Sleek white tiger armor and a cute cap
- Tier 2: Cinnabar bun hairstyle and visual upgrades
- Tier 3: Tiger mask + pink glow details
- Tier 4: Full spirit energy with ambient effects and wild VFX
This is peak D.Va energy. I will be boosting into every fight like a mythic tiger queen.

🖤 Steel Death Reaper (Mythic Weapon Skin)
Dark. Haunting. Brutal. Reaper’s Mythic skin gives his shotguns a whole new vibe with soulfire-infused effects, glowing animations, and swirled shadow energy.
These Mythics are available via the Mythic Shop and can be unlocked using 80 Mythic Prisms.

The Season 17 Battle Pass is an absolute glow-up. Here’s what you’ll unlock:

This new 6v6 limited-time mode is pure chaos in the best way.
Every round, match modifiers change everything—low gravity, charging Ult with health packs, and more weirdness. It’s only on control maps, so expect fast rounds and funky plays.
No meta, just madness. Perfect for late-night queues or “what even is this game” energy.

👀 Wait… Was That a Visual Novel Tease?
Okay, pause—Did anyone else catch that adorable pixelated scene of Juno (in her Overwatch Academy outfit) chatting with Professor Junkrat in the newest trailer? In what looks like some kind of visual novel cutscene?!
It’s super brief, super retro, and probably just a cute animation for the theme—but the dialogue box, the art style, the vibes… it’s giving Overwatch VN vibes. Or maybe an in-client lore minigame? 👀
Honestly, with all the 8-bit skins this season and the Academy theme, this might just be a fun touch for the trailer. But what if… Overwatch is cooking something story-driven behind the scenes? A little slice-of-life moment between student Juno and explosive Prof. Junkrat? I’d play it in a heartbeat!
For now, it’s just a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment—but consider me intrigued. 🧡
